What Is a Personalized Cancer Vaccine (AFTV)? How Is It Applied?
Prepared from the patient's own tumor tissue, AFTV is a personalized immunotherapy approach that trains the immune system to recognize the tumor.

The personalized cancer vaccine (AFTV — Autologous Formalin-Fixed Tumor Vaccine) is an immunotherapy prepared in the laboratory from the patient's own tumor tissue. Its goal is to teach the immune system the 'identity' of the tumor and direct the body's own defense against it. Unlike standard vaccines, it is produced specifically for each patient's tumor.
How is it applied? Tumor tissue obtained through surgery or biopsy is processed at a specialized laboratory in Japan; the prepared vaccine is administered subcutaneously in a multi-dose protocol. Treatment is generally outpatient and has a much milder side-effect profile than chemotherapy.
Who is it considered for? Patients who want to reduce recurrence risk after surgery, those who have completed standard treatments, and in some advanced-stage cases as part of combination approaches.
AFTV is one of the pioneering examples of Japan's personalized oncology approach. To assess your eligibility, you can upload your reports via the CyberCellX panel.
