A millimetric catheter inserted through the groin vessel is advanced under imaging guidance to the artery feeding the tumor. The drug is delivered directly to the tumor (concentrated effect, low systemic side effects) and the feeding vessel is blocked, starving the tumor. With hyperthermia, tumor cells are weakened by heat.
Short stay or outpatient depending on the procedure; hyperthermia sessions spread over a few days.
Short observation after the procedure; control imaging and repeat session planning if needed.
